Digital detox without reflection leads to…more stress.
If we switch off and come back to a longer list of unread emails, messages and notifications we might find that we feel even worse!
What is the point of going away and leaving everything and everyone behind for a few days of calm…only to come back to more pressure?
Why do we do it? Because we are not really considering the true, honest, personal reasons for the digital detox.
So maybe start by writing down a list of those: why do you feel you need a digital detox?
And later check the list – can you address those challenges without detoxing?
Can the need for the detox in itself be an indication that your digital habits need to improve?
