Liberating power of stories
What is truly liberating in bibliotherapy is the fact that reading books helps us externalise our problems (detach them from our core identity, move them outside of ourselves and look at them a little bit more objectively), thus gaining perspective. Reading and connecting emotionally with the story or a character may help release our emotions in a safe, contained way, on our own terms too. (via booktherapy.io)
