Studies show that people who read a lot tend to empathize better with others. That’s because they can connect better with their experiences through the stories they have read already and through the empathic connection with fictional characters (via booktherapy.io)

We can nurture our empathy through practice. Reading books and empathising with their characters is one way of doing that. When we connect emotionally with those fictional figures, we still experience feelings of respect, compassion, and connection with their experience of the fictional world.

Can you think of a book that helped you practice your empathy?
