It may sound simple at first: books supporting healing, how does it really work?

“The effectiveness of the treatment relies on the empathetic ability of the reader to identify with the literary text, either through its characters or the narrative itself” (via booktherapy.io).

Of course, this approach to healing may require a bit of support from a trained professional, but maybe some of us do it intuitively. What do you think?

Do you use the power of narratives and fictional characters to support your healing?
