How do you pause?
Welcome to our January Newsletter. I hope your 2024 starts softly.
If the usual New Year rush did reach you, I hope things are finally slowing down for you. This month, I encourage you to slow down even more. I do not mean this in the actual sense of pacing – we all have our rhythms: some of us prefer a faster pace, others move slowly, while if you are like me, the pacing tends to pulsate: slow down and then speed up a little. Today, I am encouraging you to slow down the external world that often demands the impossible of us. Find a way to pause as often as you can – not for two weeks of holidays, but daily, weekly and each month. Find pockets of time and space for your inner needs for restoration. Connect with people who recharge your batteries and let go of those who burn you out. If you sit too much, get active. If you run all the time, sit down. Experiment with pacing to find more ways to take care of yourself and others around you.
At Voxel Hub, we have been back to delivering coaching, counselling and social media strategies this month. We have contributed to the academic work of Geek Therapeutics in the US and will be hosting a Digital Wellbeing Workshop for the Iron Mill in February. We have been quiet on Substack due to the platform’s ethical challenges recently – the Substack blog is moving to our main website now, and you will still receive updates about new posts in your inbox. We are working on an exciting new offer too, but more about this when we are ready.
In the meantime, have a good and restful month!

Resources & Offerings
This is a gentle reminder that our digital wellbeing tips are still available on Substack, and if you want to receive the newly published ones, you can sign up with us there for free and receive an email to your inbox each time we publish something on our Voxel Hub blog. You don’t have to sign up – we will blog on our website, but if email reminders are indeed easier, remember that we will use Substack to distribute it – simply to honour the audiences already following us there: https://voxelhub.substack.com/
Our next event in the Iron Mill CPD series will be on Digital Wellbeing: “Introduction to Digital Self-Care”, the topic at the heart of our work. This 2-hour-long workshop is for therapists and other mental health practitioners. You can now book it for a self-selected fee to celebrate the upcoming Safe Internet Day 2024: https://www.ironmill.ac.uk/introduction-to-digital-self-care
