Asking for help takes courage, but it pays off. You do not have to suffer alone; you do not need to carry a load of heavy feelings on your own. Reach out, ask for help, and ask for specific tips or practical help. Whatever you need to process the ending you are going through. We are social animals, and sometimes we can take too much for one person to carry. Doing this may be especially difficult if you are in a carrying role or if carrying is part of your core identity (for instance, if you identify as a woman), so it may take practice. However, when we become skilful at identifying the right balance and learn to ask for help, managing endings can be pretty bonding.
